Di Maria could make PSG debut on Friday - Blanc
The Argentine has made good progress as he nears his
return from injury, though the coach admitted that Zlatan Ibrahimovic
may not be ready just yet
Angel Di Maria could be fit to make his Paris Saint-Germain debut against Montpellier on Friday, according to Laurent Blanc, though the coach feels the match may come too early for Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The Argentine is still to return to full fitness from a hamstring injury following his move from Manchester United, while Ibrahimovic has been struggling with a knee injury that has kept him out of his side's first two Ligue 1 games of the season.
Blanc, though, says Di Maria is progressing well and could be included in the team for Friday's game.
"He has done very good work over the last two weeks," Blanc told reporters. "He has made good progress and we will discuss tomorrow with him.
"I can't say that Ibrahimovic will play tomorrow. He just came back to training on Wednesday, so It might be too early for him."
Uncertainty continues to surround the future of Thiago Motta, who previously said he wanted to leave the club but is now expected to sign a new deal. Lucas Digne, on the other hand, is on the cusp of joining Roma.
"I'm 100 per cent behind him," Blanc said of Motta. "I hope he is going to stay with us.
"With Digne, we all know his situation, we are still discussing it with him. He is still here. He is not going to be with the group in Montpellier. Nothing is done yet.
