Daniel Sturridge hands Liverpool boost as he steps up recovery from injury
The Reds have made a storming start to the season and boss Brendan Rodgers is likely to have Sturridge back sooner than expected
The
England striker was dogged by injuries last season and went under the
knife in New York in May in a bid to solve his problems.
There were fears Sturridge would be out until November after the hip surgery, but the 25-year-old is well on his way to recovery.
Sturridge stayed in the States to go through an intensive rehabilitation process, and that has paid dividends with the green light to return to training much sooner than expected.
The former Manchester hasn't played since the FA Cup win at Blackburn in April.
Serious hip, thigh and calf problems restricted him to just 18 appearances last season.
