The Akure Gunners still harbour hopes of lifting the Nigeria Premier League title, but must get a result against the Flying Antelopes Sunshine Stars handler Kennedy Boboye is full of praise for his men but insists that his side will not be overawed when they travel to the Coal City on Sunday.
Sunday's meeting at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium offers the Akure Gunners the chance to move one step closer to a first NPFL title.
Enugu Rangers on their own part have not been too impressive having lost six times and drawn twice this season to place 11th on the log. Though they have not given up on their chase for a Caf Champions League ticket, the Flying Antelopes must first make home advantage count against the Akure based outfit.
Newman Musa is yet to reproduce last season’s goal scoring form but believes his team stand a chance against the former league kings.
“We are very prepared for this game and with God on our side, we have a chance to win. Honestly, we have a 50 percent chance against the Rangers on Sunday,” Musa told Goal.
The hosts go into this season with the ambition of lifting their first league diadem since 1984 and going by Foster Chime, media officer of the Flying Antelopes, the team are set to put up a commanding display against the Sunshine Stars.
Boboye still has fitness concerns over Tamen Medrano and Abe Sunday as he is expected to stick to his starting 11 that trounced Kano Pillars in Akure.
