The former Comptroller-General of Nigeria Customs Service, Alhaji Inde Dikko Abdullahi, who is currently out of the country may be arrested on return from his overseas trip over allegation of corruption while in office.
A source told us that security operatives have been alerted to arrest Dikko immediately on his return to the country.
Although, details of the allegations against him have remained unclear, the Jabi Abuja residence of the former CG was invaded by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) Friday last week.
Our source said after the search which lasted for the whole day, the EFCC resolved to wait for the return of the former CG.
The haunt for Dikko may not be unconnected with a petition alleging corruption that had earlier been sent to the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) last year shortly before he left office.
The petition was also sent to the Presidency and other arms of government by the Nigerian Customs Transparency Initiative (NCTI) which urged the authorities to probe how the Customs under Dikko spent the sum of N3.5bn on upgrading online technology upgrade.
However, Dikko, is believed to have recorded so many achievements while in office, including improved welfare of officers and reforms that led to increase in revenue generation.
Dikkos is speculated to have travelled to Dubai.
