The protest rally by AJ Dagga Tolar Capbekic, Okada Ride and other activists, Tuesday March 22, 2016 to Area B, Police Command was clouded by the clamour for justice and an end to police brutality in Ajegunle.
Marching in their numbers, the group activists led by An Dagga Tolar saw many protesters holding placards with inscriptions that emphasizes police brutality. The 'Okada' riders too were determined in their quest as they rode in group to Area 'B' Police Command at Apapa, Lagos.
When Project 3:16 Metro arrived at Boundary Market junction in Ajegunle Apapa, where the protesters had assembled, the look on the faces of protesters had been that of people that were determined to end the years of pain and frustration as commuters in Ajegunle.
One of the 'Okada' riders who simply prefered to be called Mr. James said all they want is that police should allow them take care of their families, and stop seeing them as ATM.(Automated Teller Machine). "We have families at home, the police should allow us to take home the little money we've made for our children to enjoy, and not give it to police as against our wish," the frenzy looking man said.
During his speech before the protesters began their march from Ajegunle to Area 'B' at Apapa, the convener of the group CAPBEKIC, Aj Dagga Tolar opined that the Nigerian Police should end the scores of injustices inflicted on innocent citizens, saying it is high time the 'Okada' riders fought for their destinies.
"We must put an end to police brutality and everybody must rise to fight for this just cause ideologically," he said.
