The National Secretary-General of the National Council of Managing Directors of Licensed Customs Agents (NCMDLCA), Festus Ukwu has written to the Council for Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) on election into offices of the Council.
In a 3-page letter written to the Registrar of the Council, a copy made available to us, the Secretary asked CRFFN to compel Festus Ejiofor to step down for election to take place.
The letter reads, “We therefore request you to compel the incumbent interim National President to step down to allow the association Electoral Commission conduct the election without resistance.”
The Council also stated that it would communicate the date of the election to CRFFN in order to have some of its staff on ground during the election.
“The founding members agreed that the Council be refocused and re-position for better performance since the Council refuses to conduct election into various offices since her inception since 1996.
“The Council founding members calls for conduct of election at all level before March 2016 ending to return power to the elected president a Council in tandem to the Council constitution.”
However, the embattled president of the Council, Festus Ejiofor said Festus Ukwu was on suspension hence could not write a letter to CRFFN on election.
He said Ukwu was expelled at a meeting held in the association on the 28th of January 2016 for misconduct and anti-association activities.
“In a recently held meeting of the National Council on the 28th January 2016, a resolution was taken to the effect t you Mr Festus Ukwu be expelled from the Council for using the facility of the Council to form another personal association thereby involving yourself in anti- association activity.
“That you are discovered to be jn conspiracy with those trouble makers that feed fat in crisis who are tempting to form a parallel association of which action is intended to destroy the NCMDLCA accredited by CRFFN and known to government.”
